Why traditional hiring is failing both brands and professionals

The volume trap
When a role opens, the default response is often to publish a job, wait for applications and filter a growing pile of profiles. Volume looks like momentum. But volume is not access. The people best suited to a role may not be applying at all, and the people applying may struggle to communicate what makes them distinctive.
The cost of starting over
Every reactive search can restart the same expensive cycle: brief an outside partner, pay for access, repeat interviews and lose the knowledge when the search closes. External partners can be valuable; dependence on them for every hiring need is a different issue. Brands should ask what they are retaining after each hire.
The technology gap
Many applicant tracking systems are designed to manage a process, not to build forward-looking intelligence. They answer “where is the application?” more easily than “who should we know before this position opens?” That gap is where modern hiring strategy belongs.
A better operating model
Define success before sourcing. Build a qualified bench. Document role requirements and candidate context. Use consistent interviews. Capture outcomes. CONCÉ is designed to bring matching, bench-building and human judgment into a more connected workflow alongside existing tools.
Do this now
Brands: identify one recurring role and map what a strong bench would require. Professionals: document the outcomes and leadership behaviors a résumé alone cannot show.
